Yoga trains us to observe the stories in our mind and the emotions they trigger by creating space in the body and mind, through physical and meditation practices; most importantly is the breath. Creating awareness of our emotions and habits, allowing us to change things we can and want to change and accept the things we cannot; enough space to reflect and respond, rather than react and resist. Cultivating gratitude and equanimity.

Yoga has helped me deal with some difficult periods in my life, while recovering from surgery and learning to live with a chronic illness. I've experienced how yoga gave me strength and flexibility, helped me deal with pain, improved my poor posture and helped me prepare for the further surgeries and deal with difficult emotions, as it taught me to create space in my body and mind. It has inspired me to keep learning and developing and to have a deeper awareness of my body, mind, energy and spirit.

I am fascinated by the yoga philosophy and its physical, mental, emotional and spiritual qualities; there is always another layer, another connection. While it is vast, I am struck by the beautiful simplicity; it all makes such perfect sense. 

It has opened the path to further learning about the mind/body connection, mindfulness, meditation, Buddhism, psychology, anatomy, energy and massage. I’m absolutely relishing what I am learning about all these things and they seem to complement each other wonderfully.

Yoga has been the underlying current, its philosophy holding an abundance of wisdom which I continue to explore. It is a powerful tool for many challenges in life and I hope it can bring you as much as it continues to bring me. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this was actually something taught from a young age, valuable mind-training and physical exercise, giving us tools to better deal with our emotions, to help with the many challenges of life.

Please don’t be dissuaded by images of bendy people getting into pretzel-like shapes, as yoga is so much more than the physical postures. Anyone can do yoga, yoga is life!

Why Belly Full of Yoga came to be.

I am passionate about yoga, yoga therapy and Thai yoga massage. They all compliment each other and are tools to create awareness and connect body, mind, breath and spirit.
